Unfortunately I don’t have any Guild stockist locally showcasing the full Guild range, however from what I can see online there doesn’t appear to be a 000 sized USA Guild offering within the current range, seems a bit odd! I’m guessing historically the f47 filled this void, but regretfully they are now discontinued and increasingly rare and expensive on the second hand market. I’d really love to stay loyal to guild but it appears there’s a distinct lack of options to do so for a guitar of this style/size.

Well, you're right. Hopefully, someday, Guild will return to a full line-up of US-built guitars, but I'm not sure if the economics leads that way. It's also worth noting, @yoffer, that the recent purchase of Córdoba Music Group (Guild's parent) by Yamaha may have some impact on their product planning for the future. CMG has not seemed to be motivated to go that way.

Traditionally, a 000 is short scale and an OM is standard scale. Some F30s are short scale, but not most of them. And there are no OM/000 size guitars coming out of Oxnard, and I never really understood why.
Not quite true. Short scale to around 75. Then long scale until the late 90s when they went back to short for a few years. Yes, the NH production was all long.

Yes no new OOO models . Just older U.S.F30’s Import models though . OM 240’s and OM 120 . I happen to love the OM120 😁

Also, I think I'm remembering a short scale from New Hartford, or perhaps I'm remembering some difference in nut width instead that had something to do with the Standard series, Traditional, and GSRs...

Exactly, Ray. I think Guild has done a pretty good job covering missing offerings from the US with the Westerly (somewhat) equivalents.

Having said that, I'm sure the used guitar market has factored into what CMG has done with Guild, just like it did under Fender's ownership.

Correct, but there are plenty of F-30 species to choose from the New Hartford factory and any of the factories before. All great guitars. (the F-40 and F-47 had 16" lower bout vs. the F-30 15 1/4").

Yamaha? Wow, this is news to me. I guess I've been living under a rock and didn't get the memo! That sounds like a good fit.

Yes thankfully. I kind of think , WARNING ! ( topic veer ) that for U.S. Guild to have better chances of success might need another move . I only say that from a poor man’s perspective. l😂. Cal I believe is raising the minimum wage like many other states but it just seems that’s another price hike across the board from suppliers etc . The guitars already hovering around 5,000 ( thought that’s what I seen ? ) but I round up everything . lol not sure on the currant market but I certainly can’t dive for that kind of money .
In all ramping up production in cal in my mind is a no go unless Guild just becomes a boutique builder . End beer er veer actually just coffee and cold rain . lol 😂

Oh, that is pretty old news already... Happened in February 2023.
See here for instance, there are very long threads at LTG about it.

True. But when I buy Guild, I only consider used anyway. And specifically Hoboken or Westerly. They are out there. And the sound is really special.

Thanks Ralf! Thanks Chazmo! In defense of my ignorance I don't read every thread and not one of those discussions was titled "Yamaha Buys Cordoba / Guild" I've got a little reading to do. Cheers!

A NH F30 standard is a fantastic guitar, you don’t need a brand new Guild. In fact NOS NH models might still be out there, I found one a few months ago.

If you do want brand new, as mentioned you can get their import OM models. At least they say Guild on the headstock, they have all solid woods, (with exception the backs of the archback models of course) they sound and play great. Typically the only knock on them is the poly coating. That and the fact they are not US built. However, if you were blind and played one, you’d have no idea it was an import. They really are a great instrument for the price.
