Hi, Guild-friends - everywhere;

just yesterday I crossed the ebay offer: 1955 GUILD F212 NT VINTAGE ACOUSTIC W/ AWESOME SOUND!

http://cgi.ebay.com/1955-GUILD-F212-NT- ... 1e610d1ec0

According to the serial number I have some doubts about the year of outcome: to my counting an Guild data sheet it must be somewhere around 1967-1969; the question also is whether these F-212 models was built in 1955 already??

Maybe Hans can also see and prove?

For tonight (as over here in oulde Europe )- merry regards and best wishes

Jan-Peter

Hi Janpeter; 1955 is not the correct year; I don't know for sure but there is a good chance that the seller made a typo ... 1955 instead of 1965. I'm sure Hans will straighten it out for you.

Hello JanPeter,

The F-212 was introduced at the very end of 1963.
To me it looks like the seller doesn't understand the Guild serial number system. He took the 4 numbers from the AN-2xxx serial number and concluded that the guitar was from 1955.

By looking at the photos, I would say that guitar is from 1969 .......... maybe 1970.

Sincerely,

Hi, Hans;

thanks a lot for your immediate reply!!! - It is just as what I also concluded; the number and year do not correspond; therefore it is a fair decade younger than advertised.

May we hope for the second volume of the Guild's History??
