Selling my 1967 Guild D40 with Guild hard case. I got this from our own Wileypickett. It looks and sounds wonderful, just the action is a little high (9/64 bass / 7/64 high E - see Wileypickett’s comment below). I’m reflecting the cost of a setup in the price. No cracks or such. Tuners were replaced with Grovers, but the originals will be included. This will be packed professionally (and not the UPS store!). $925

Hi Max5,

Maybe just the picture? Nothing unusual going on…

Beautiful Health, and a terrific price with room for future work if ever needed. GLWS.

I know what twocorgis is referring to!

This guitar has a through-saddle slot (open on the ends) rather than a closed saddle slot.

As I do with all my guitars, I replaced the plastic saddle with bone. When I carved this saddle I left it a bit longer than the open-ended saddle slot (so it sticks out a hair on the bass side) so that if the next owner (our man Heath) wanted to sand down the bottom of the saddle to lower the action, the saddle would match more closely the tapered ends of the bridge, as it would have originally.

FWIW: I use open tunings, medium gauge strings, and I tune way down. Having the action on the high side allows me to fingerpick aggresively on the slackened strings without the strings buzzing. I know most players don't favor such an approach, so I made the saddle extra long, so future owners would have the option to adjust it.

(This, BTW, is a really nice guitar. Love the way it sounds and looks.)

Not the original, but a nicer, newer, Guild case.
Lowered price to the lowest I can go. To the lucky person who gets it, you’d have a great 60’s D40 with case for the price of a D25 and a set up. I’m only selling it to fund a new dryer :)-/) so if I figure that out first I’ll happily keep this!

Dryers are easy to fix! I fixed the bad heating element in my LG for about $50 IIRC, and that included a new thermostat. That's the most common thing to fail on dryers, and it's a lot of screws, but an easy repair otherwise.

Beauty! Looks like plenty of room to come down on the saddle. Someone will be happy with this.
