The pots date to the 48th week of 1983. You can see the pickup location is different than on the 22 fret models. Also the foot headstock is slightly larger. I'm thinking that no more than 50 examples were made although I have only seen 2 others besides this one.

I'm not big on "dating" Pilots but I think @The Guilds of Grot told me the earliest ones had no bevel on the back for the player's belly. Is the back "flat"?

No "arm bevel" either!
Go to Guild .com and date it with the serial number.
The back has a belly contour but none on the top.

Wasn't sure about the back but the lack of the arm bevel is really noticiable if not downright uncomfortable!
