Hi ! everyone I'm new to this site and need some help in locating a owners manual for a 1997 Guild Bluesbird. I would be happy with a scanned version or a photocopy and be willing to pay $10.00 for one thru PayPal. Any Help in locating one would be Greatly Appreciated!!

Hello Louie,

Welcome! Not sure if I can help you but I don't remember if models like the Bluesbird had a specific owner's manual. I believe that during the FMIC period most models had a hang tag with a little information about the model. Since I've personally never bought a new Guild in a store, I couldn't tell you if during the second half of the '90s Guild guitars were sold with anything else but the generic owner's manual as pictured in this photo:

Maybe somebody like 'hideglue' would remember!

Anyway, if you're just looking for the generic manual, as pictured above, I could help you with that.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hello Louie,

As Hans states, only the generic manual was shipped with the Bluesbird.

I've got a Bluesbird with case candy and manual, and I can confirm it is a generic manual - cover identical the one posted by Hans.
I'd do a copy for you, but it is an hour's drive away for sale in a guitar store and a download is simply going to be the same thing.
I hope you are enjoying your Bluesbird. Great guitars.

Sorry, been away from home. Thanks eveyone for your replies. I have the generic manual. Please Do not go to any trouble in getting me a copy. I was looking for more or less a setup/maintenance manual to show me how to setup the pups, intonation, nut and tunners. It's been over 43 years since I last played the Guitar. I had a Band from 1958 to 1968. I took lessons from 1955 at 5 years old till 1968 then life got in the way, and I just have to play again. I'm looking to replace the pickups and add 4 push/pulls for more variations in sound. I'll be using a Peavey Delta Blues combo amp with 1X15 and a 2X12 external cabinet also a Tech 21 60 watt combo Amp and a 2x12 external cabinet. I got all of this off of craigslist from some guy who got hurt and can't play anymore for $1800 this inluded the Guild also, Just a Great deal! at the right time. If anyone can suggest some pickup selections and brand names for the push/pulls that would be Great!. I'll be playing music from the 50's to todays music. Thanks everyone for all the replies. Louie

Hi Louie,

I can't recommend a push pull knob maker, try Stewmac or similar. Just be sure that you have sufficient room in the cavity for the extra depth. I had an issue with a push-pull in my SG, but they are a particularly thin bodied guiatar.

I got some great advice form iismet on pickup height here. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24522
He's talking about a Starfire IV, but the principles/methods are valid for all guitars.

You really did get a great deal on all that gear!
