It is ok however I believe the mid-1950's X-500/X-550 is the real deal.......jim in Maine

I almost fully agree with your statement. However I had the chance to play a X550P built by Chris Fleming and it was one of the best guitar I've ever played, including vintage ones.

I love this version of the stair step pick guard. Wish the new SF VI had this instead of the 50s-early 60's shape.

I'm not in anyway trying to demean this 2004 X-500. However I would venture to surmise that those of us who either own or have played a Guild archtop from the 1950's would agree that they are incredible instruments better than most Gibsons of that era...........my 1960 Guild A-500 surpasses any L5c that I have ever played.........jim in Maine
