Read this reference on the relationship between action height, bridge/saddle height, and neck angle.


With older guitars it is not uncommon that some will need a neck reset, which can run $500-1000 depending on what related work needs to be done.

Otherwise ask about cracks, repairs, buzzing, rattling, fret wear and known parts replacements.

Hey Ricky, welcome to LTG! Mikey nailed it as to what to look for. That neck angle check is important, as is saddle height, which provides a good break angle for the strings. Can't tell a whole lot from that one photo. Looks like a nice ebony fretboard. If it's an online buy, I've learned to ask a lot of questions! The price sure seems reasonable.... I wonder if there's a reason for that....
