But I generally keep my Guilds in a tub of liquid nitrogen while I'm ice fishing, then I heat them up at the campfire and play away.........never had a problem. :) West
A little different down here; we keep 'em in heated brine and then chill with dry ice for that 'crisp' tone ... Wood and finish ... different coefficients of expansion ... heed or practice in the mirror: " ...it really doesn't bother me ... it really doesn't bother me ... "

Thanks for the shipping tips again, guys. I took off the end pin, loosened the strings and packed the headstock so it wouldn't move. This is the guitar in question. With your help it should arrive at the home of another LTGer in this condition.

When I get ready to receive a guitar in the winter, I open all my windows and turn off all the heat, and leave the fridge doors open and let the house acclimate to the guitar.

Problem solved, I can open the package immediately.

Now that's my kind of logic!
It's an obviously well -thought-out solution!

HOLY SMOKES!!!

I wouldn't ship that beauty anywhere!

What model is that? One of the nicest bursts I've seen... looks like maple, too... D30?

It's an '86 G-37 that a colleague traded/sold to me so I could sell it to another LTGer. I gladly brokered the deal, although I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to actually ship it because the guitar was so beautiful.

Just an update. The '86 Guild G37 shown in photos above arrived in the same condition which it was sent in. Thank you UPS and to everyone for their packing advice.
