I was cruising the pawnshops up in Plano, TX yesterday and came across a Guild Hollowbody Elec. They were asking BIG DOLLARS for it so I didn't really get a good lood at it other than it has the Chesterfield on the headstock and was a nice red color. If anyone is looking for one of these the Guild is in the pawnshop on Plano Pkwy and Coit Rd........slow

If I remember correctly it was the double cutaway. Kind of like the gibson SG, except it had a tail piece....slow

OK I went by that Plano Pawnshop yesterday and they still have the Guild. I asked to look at it and here is what I found out.

1965 Guild Starfire V Hollowbody
S/N EN119
1 of 93 made
asking price $6995.00
It is a nice Red color with abalone trapazoid inlay on the fret board.
Still has the Guild sticker inside.
Has original tail piece and pick guard.
That's all I know......slow

Another totally delusional pawn shop owner. No Starfire is worth 7 large. Very few Guilds are worth that kind of dinero. I hope the Pawn Broker is stuck with this Guild 4EVA. Hopefully he overpaid for it as well.

I guess 93 in 1965? For $6995, you can probably get an Artist Award with enough left over for a Starfire III or IV

Cool. That's a cherry 1967 Starfire I bass and there will be a lot of similarity between the bass and guitar from that time period.

I use it as my avatar because it is the only shot I have of me playing my favorite bass.
