I was sitting here noticing the large number of Artist Awards that are for sale either on ebay or via other avenues. Got a question for all of you in the know. I have owned a number of Artist Awards over the years, and frankly believe that it is one of the nicest archtops out there in the history of gorgeous archtops. The problem that I always had was the large body size of the guitar. I would develop a problem with my right arm starting to kind of go 'numb' after playing the guitar for a decent period of time. Never had this problem with any of my other archtops over the years. Don't have an AA any longer because of this issue. Comments? jim in Maine

Never had that problem with mine, but then my main flattop for 30 years has been an F-50, so I'm used to the size.

I had an AA and never experienced that problem. Of course I was much stronger and nimble back then. I got rid of it out of stupidity :?

I have practiced general dentistry for years so maybe that could be a part of the problem. Bottom line for me is that I ONLY had this problem with the AA which is sad for me as it to this day is one of the most gorgeous archtop jazz guitars out there..........Dr. jimbo

I've been gigging 1-3 times a week (3 set gigs) with my AA for about 3 months now and have not had this problem. Caveat is that I play sitting on a stool with no strap, guitar/body in a slightly modified "big band" style. What I mean by the latter is that the guitar is at a slight angle tilted towards my chest (does that make sense?) and I try to sit up as straight as possible. I get a good angle on the guitar and the body width is not a problem.
