Joan, it's good to see you back! You've been away for a while, yes?? (y)(y)
Thanks. Yes, I’ve been fighting and beating cancer (squamous cell in my mouth, lost 1/3 of my tongue but can talk and sing as well as before, NonHodgekinLymphoma which is currently under control) and then for a change of pace broke my humerus in three places a year ago…but I’m still standing and reclaiming my life. Glad to be back!

Here is a pic of my guitar. It is still in the shop so I can't snap a portrait of it for now. This was 10 years ago at a skilled nursing facility where I sang regularly.

Omigosh. You make it look small!

Welcome back!

Wow funny I just came across yesterday a very old 25 minute interview on YouTube of the Bee Gees. They did two songs, just vocals and twin D55’s! Old footage but the guitars sounded big and great. Not sure the year but it’s pretty old.

DavismanLV, It sounds like you went through so much. I hope all continues to go well. I am two months past a cancerous radical kidney removal. So far so good. I just need to be diligent in caring for the one kidney I have left at 68. Thanks for sharing and best to you.

Br1ck, Dan here, your old pal from Mandolin Cafe. You also know me as lflngpicker. I’ve missed you over there, but change is good. Nice to hear from you.
Leaving Mandolin Cafe was not by choice. I was banned early on in the Covid epidemic when I urged extreme caution after medical professionals warned of the dangers. Some, the forum owner included, did not like that. Nice to hear from you. I'm very sorry to have been proven right.

I wondered where you had gone since we frequently interacted. You were right, Br1ck! And to be banned from the cafe— that is so wrong. You were expressing concern and sharing information that you had. I am so sorry to learn of this. I am very glad to hear from you again! Keep picking my friend. Dan

GCJaguar, Thank you. She does have strum marks, and many dings and scratches, but she has been played on stage and recorded so many times. Always kept in her case. I feel close to her. I think she still looks great. I call her “Guilda.”
