I recently looked at a Guild 12 string locally that was worse than that!! Honestly, the guitar was from the early 70's and was in great shape. However, the action was at least that high and the bridge had been shaved down to nothing and the saddle was practically non-existent. Unplayable. It was sad. Maybe if they shaved the bridge and took the saddle down on this one, it could buy a little time. It actually looked like there was a full-thickness bridge and there was some saddle left. However, you'd just be buying a little time.... that's all.
That's why I always like to see 'em in person.
Sad story. I do have to give props to David (Dadaist) for giving me a heads up on that craigslist ad and having me scope out the opportunity. THANKS, DAVID!!
