Biggest salmon....yet!

This is a very large Chum salmon from yesterday. Took a while to get him to the net.

Keep in mind that the guy hoding him is about 6'6.

Nice... That should feed him for a while. Its interesting how the front teeth go back towards the body and the rest are kind of going towards the front. Obviously they are predators themselves :shock: The cycle of life is brutal but perfect :wink:

These guys follow the salmon right up to the base of the falls, and they get their fair share. 8)

Holy cow if that was following me , I'd be scared too. Seriously, they are pretty to look at but man they can be vicious hunters. I love watching all of the documentaries about marine life and still find it fascinating that the more beautiful an animal usually means the more deadly they can be :shock:

About 15-20, tops.
One thing to remember is that these fish are below the falls and could be resting between runs. Still, there's a lot of fight left to deal with. :wink:

Nice fish Joe. You get the smoker started and I'll bring the bagels and cream cheese, tomato, onion and capers. Nothing better than smoked salmon!!
