I got booted off The Gear Page for a week, The Gripe Page I'd taken to calling it.

No explanation from a mod, but possibly because of a pic I posted, a famous one of Johnny Cash flipping the bird, this was in relation to Amazon, a company I do not support in any way, unless they have a better price ;[]

I'm not sure if that was enough to get booted for a week, and no explanation from a mod, except that it happened an hour after I posted the pic, which was dumb, what do I care about someone else's trouble with Amazon.

This is what happens when you pay attention to negativity.

Don't do it, ignore it.

I'll be reinstated in 2 days, although I wouldn't doubt that I'm booted for life, I've seen this happen before, they tell you a week, but it's permanent.

And the point of this post?

I don't care.

I really don't care.

I'm still able to read it by not being logged in, and good grief, how boring.

Being able to respond and get "likes" may be fun, but if you can't, wow, what was I ever doing there?

At first I was still reading threads, not able to respond, realized I didn't need to respond, that it's mostly a big waste of time.

And now after 5 days, I see all thread titles as extremely boring, no need to open and read.

Thank you TGP mods, for breaking my forum habit, I have way too much else to do anyway.

And this place that feels more like family, where you actually make some real connections, this is all the forum I need.

I think a lot of us have had periods where we left the LTG for a while, a season or two, due to other priorities/commitments/issues, it's all good. We are always welcome to return and pick up where we left off or forge a new path. I find the Guild story still captivating and compelling, and like you say, there are many on here I have known via the web for over a decade. Always good to check back in and catchup. As well, I have made gaffes on the LTG, and usually a mod will message me, and I can apologize or learn for next time, etc. Self-moderation is of course always encouraged. I think most of us do that anyway. For what it's worth, I always enjoy your posts, and while I did not see the Amazon one, I hope you stick around regardless or return eventually after your sabbatical.

I mean, where's another forum where anyone cares about Iris, which I thought we lost one night recently, but not. 9 lives.

I'm insisting she comes in at night now, and she's getting it.

She hung out for an outdoor jam last night, will hang out even if the music's loud - electric with bass/drums - and then galloped her way to the door as I was coming in.

I'm actually allergic to cats. I mean really allergic. My throat closes up and I can't breath allergic. Strange, because I was raised on a farm and we had cats. This has nothing to do with getting kicked off a forum, but it seems to be where we are going with it. ;)

Iris actually let my 18 year old neighbor kid/guitar buddy pet her yesterday, which was/is very unusual, she's not into strangers and other cats.

He said that the night before when we were playing, quite loud, she would go towards him if she liked the riffs he was playing, and the opposite if she didn't like the riffs, interesting.

We were using a Digitech Trio for bass/drums, I let him come up with something the machine liked, in G, good key for me, and one I still need to explore, pedal steel lick mania.

He then came up with all of these great riffs/licks in that key, and on time, this is the best thing that could ever happen to this kid, staying in key, staying on time.

I've known him since day one, also happens to be wife/I's anniversary, and yesterday was that day.

For his birthday, I cleaned/restrung his guitar, put better knobs on it, oiled the fingerboard with F1, showed him how to properly string and intonate, gave him a gig bag and a composition book, and bought him a Trio of his own that will be here in a couple days with the $$$ from item I just sold on eBay, that was convenient.

This is his guitar, a bit unusual, pretty decent actually. Cleaned, oiled, intonated.

And the amp I found him on CL a couple weeks ago, got his folks to buy it for him. Small world, the amp I picked up at the Freighliner shop from a guy working in parts, who's name sounded familiar, and seeing him I knew him from somewhere, and we figured it out, we were both in the Auto Tech program at the same time back in 1988-90. We'd been friends then, he was one of the rare guys into Mopars like me. I hadn't seen him in over 30 years, trippy.
