I have a chance to pickup an S4CE Songbird for a good price but it comes without a case. If you have one or know where I can find one, please let me know. Many thanks.

Year is relevant, as early Songbirds were shallower body depth than later ones, because of the change in pre-amp and the footprint it took up on the side of the guitar. The "2-knob" guitars are the thinner ones.

Either way they're somewhat problematic but a Bluesbird case was listed for both models (BB & S4ce/Songbird) in '00, so a post '98 BB case will work for a post '96 Songbird.

That is excellent information. I have a AAA Bluesbird so when I get the guitar I'll check the fit. It's a 2 knob style but the owner isn't a player so he's unsure of the year. Thank you so much for your input.

'S what we do 'round here. ;)

PS: Welcome, don't be a stranger! Several proud Songbird owners here. Sounds like you realize they're basically a flattop version of a BB.
Love those AAA 'birds btw. Nice to see you know what they're actually called. :)

Occurs to me the problem might be clearance for the knobs, too. The later ones had a Fishman "barndoor" in the side. Might be why they used the same case for later S4's and BB's.

The knobs ARE the problem. I received the guitar yesterday; cleaned it up, tightened up all the tuners, mounts; anything that had a screw was loose. Restrung it and it seems pretty good, but the knobs are in the way. Without the knobs I'm sure it would fit the BB case like a glove. I'm just going to try to research cases. I don't care for gig bags, so I'll likely find some sort of universal aftermarket unit. There are a few guitar shops in town, so I'll begin with them.

Occurs to me a "GA" (16" lower bout f-body like Taylor 314's) sized case might work, might need an extra support around lower bout but might have enough clearance for knobs. Heck even a dreadnought case may work. In fact seem to recall some of the very late Westerly BB's did ship w/ dread shaped cases for some reason (maybe ran out of the original cases and no case maker in place for Corona, yet?)

After doing some more research, I found out that this guitar (which plays quite nice, by the way now that it's cleaned up and restrung) This guy isn't an S4CE. It's an 87 Songbird. The designation S4CE wasn't a thing yet when it was made. I'm going to hit some shops in my area (Jacksonville, FL) starting next week. Checking dimensions, it's fairly close to a Strat or Tele, but I'll have to actually fit it up.

Technically correct, Songbird shows up in price lists first, but the Songbird was an S4ce with a gloss finish, gold hardware, and special color options (Songbird Custom) that couldn't be ordered on S4ce's .

This is a pic of the case you're looking for...no I don't have one...use a gig bag for mine. Over the years the few cases I've seen have been way too expensive...you might try a tear drop shaped case if you can find one.
