Just for historical interest, here's a link to a "Chesterfield" headstock X-79 on Reverb with S/N #108. So, we know now that at least 108 were made with these necks before they switched to the all mahogany necks with the headstock with a shape similar to the body.
I believe Skylark on this forum has #99 and I have a black #82 with the Chesterfield headstocks. I believe at first that they were putting these Starfire type necks on before they switched to the more familiar necks that the majority of the model have.
