Likely a bit of both.
I don't have or play a bass, but my kitties jump into my lap a lot anyway.
On the other hand, I'd jump into your lap if it would make you stop playing the bass.

Martins and Gibsons stuffed with gas-soaked rags make great torches. Taylors are the brightest though.
