Having just joined the LTG...my apologies if I don't get it right first time!
I have recently purchased a Corona made F47RCE.
Apart from one small flake of finish missing near the body end of neck edge, it is in excellent order ...sounds very sweet and balanced with new Adamas strings, but yet to try it through a PA.
The serial number is COR000080.Does this mean made in August 2000?
Any idea of approximate value?
Any comments welcome. :D
Thanks! David

Welcome to LTG, David. :D :D
Those F47RCE's are nice guitars. Some of my favorite in the Guild line.

I haven't been following sales of those lately, so I can't help you on the value.
Someone who can will be along shortly.

Hi and welcome David,

Nice guitar that you got (pics most welcome  ).
As far as determining the value, (and I don't mean to come across as "smart a$$" on a first hello), but I would suggest that what you paid for it should be a good begining.... And I'm sure more feedback will follow soon! So stay tuned...

Thank you for the warm welcome!
I bought it 'Off eBay' when the seller withdrew it a day before the end of auction, ostensibly as he was fed up with silly offers and time wasters!?...£625 delivery included....after my firm offer.
There seems to be little information about this model online, but I thought this was a good deal!:) Having briefly played a guild F50 about thirty+ years ago, I have always fancied one...
... a Martin and Gibson would also be sweet!
My 'working tool' has been an Adamas series 2 for thirty odd years.
I shipped a wonderful Adamas Original series one cutaway over from the States two years ago and this is truly amazing!...Another eBay purchase!
Last but by no means least....a totally beautiful, one-off, 14 piece bowl-back Hiscox
(same guy, Brynn Hiscox, master luthier, as makes the world renown hard cases!)
in plum and maple. This I should sell as it has sat in it's case waaaay too long, unplayed!
I might put up some photos of that...if I can figure out how!?!?

Welcome to LTG David.

I just sent my Corona F-47RCE to Austria to live with Markus and my Westerly F-47 is still missing his wallmate.

Great guitars, IMHO, and certainly worth in the $1k range.

I think as the prices from Europe translate across the water, you got a good deal on that.

Hi David welcome aboard! Corona wasn't up and running 'till early 2002. The F65 in my sig was shipped out of Westerly in Nov. '01, very close to the end of production before it closed.
I have a Corona and think it's every bit the Guild the Westerlys were.
We've got a guy here who will probably be able to give you a better idea of the actual production date. His name is Hans Moust and he literally wrote a book on Guilds.

Works in Europe and sometimes takes a couple of days but he checks pretty regularly for these kinds of posts. Also he may be getting ready to come to Arlington Guitar show, maybe already traveling. You could also send him a PM via the board's messaging system, "Hansmoust". He helped me get a good idea of when my D40 was made, and if I remember correctly, he's still getting the Corona production records organized. Or maybe by now it only needs to be "written up". We're hoping a lot of that info'll get published in "Volume 2" of the Guild Guitar Book. Now slated for publication, we're waiting for a date.
