Hi Lee, I saw that ad too, and figure its actually a D25 but still might be worth a look for the half decent price....Steffan

Nah fellas, there was a D26 built, a D25, but a tad prettier I think. I finally talked a member here into buying one that had been listed on Gbase for about 2 years.....last I heard, he loved it.....beautiful guitar.

Thanks for the replies. I now have a D-26nt home with me for a 2 day approval. Apparently there were 400 made in 1995. When I brought it home I took a look inside and the braces are scalloped and it has a small maple bridge plate, two features that change the sound quite a bit compared to the 70`s models. The guitar is very open sounding and responsive. It looks pretty much like a D-40 except for the back which is arched like a D-25. The headstock is tapered also. I`m going to restring it tonight and spend some time playing. Does someone know what finishes they were using in `95.

Ahem.....drop me a note if you keep it, we can compare it with my gloss d4, and if it doesn't meet with your approval, drop me a note.....  Steffan
