Hello, my friend has a D25 WG-Red serial # 0402(that's what it says on the sticker inside) made in Westerley RI. On the back of the headstock it says Made in the USA D25 WG Red 6-87. I don't see this guitar in the Guild Database. Any help ?

It's still a little early, dw, but have another cup of coffee and wait right there.
The Guild cavalry will be along shortly.

dwinner - I guess with only three posts to date I can say "Welcome to LTG".

The Guild serial number lists are known to have some errors and omissions, so the fact that you can't find anything should not be of concern. Hopefully, Hans Moust will come along an enlighten us. Any chance your firend has pictures you could post?

Hell dwinner,

Welcome! What your friend has is a D-25 in Wood Grain Red from 1987. The complete serial number should be # D250402 though!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Does anyone know if "woodgrain red" looks like the bright red that I thought they also called "cherry" around that timeframe?

(hint . . . a picture may be worth a thousand words, if anyone can post a photo) 8)

Hans posted a pic of a D-25C (Cherry finish) the other day, that option was available when I bought my D-25M and it's tough to tell those two apart! But, the cherry finish is a bit more red.
