I bought this last fall but only recently got it back from Tom Jacobs. It needed some minor repairs and a refret and of course it got a fabulous setup by the master. I'm sure many of you have heard @Westerly Wood 's great recordings playing his D25BR and read his posts expressing his enthusiasm for this model. I am right there with him. This guitar is among the best 6-string dreads I have ever played which is curious because it was a pretty cost-effective basic model at the time it was made.
(I should clarify that the extended length of time Tom had the guitar was due to me, I asked him to hold it until the spring weather arrived, I don't like shipping acoustic guitars in the winter)

Looks amazing! Like right off the show room floor fresh. Play it in good health!

Congratulations Norrisey! This is becoming a rather obscure Guild model, over time. Glad you dig it too. And a 1971 to boot.

Thanks! I wonder how many D25s were labeled 'BR' guitars. Label below. In case anyone is wondering 'BR' indicated a 'brown-stained finish'

HNGD! And my, for a ‘71 it sure photographs well, that looks pristine! Nice find and score. With the recent refresh you gave it, it oughta last a good long while before needing anything else too, good stuff (y)

Wow!! That's a beauty!! What a stunning guitar and even the label looks like someone just wrote it!! Did they get a new pen that day?? I love the "not Hoboken, not Westerly" labels. They look so clean and nice. Golly. Enjoy my friend!! What a cool guitar. (y)(y)

Love my 1970 D 25 BR as well but I gotta say, yours is in far better cosmetic condition than mine, althoiugh no surprises. I bought mine knowing full well it was never gonna win any beauty contests. Something about this model, not exactly sure what, but I believe it to be a really good Guild.

Congrats on your beauty!!!

Yours is earlier in the year too. My serial is 53798. I think Hans once told me mine was made very late in ‘71, and might not have left westerly till early ‘72 but was definitely built in 1971.

@Westerly Wood do you know if your guitar has a date stamp on the inside of the top? My D35 was made at about the same time - early '71 - and the top has a date stamp on the inside but I haven't been able to locate such a stamp on my D25 yet.
