I was just scanning Ebay and came across a listing of a Guild F20 with Hoboken label listed as "1968 F20 Troubadour" SN AH3014" $1750.00 Item# 394809492265.
I searched the guild SN website with no results for F20 with the AH prefix. There were AI,AJ + more. I am not adept at posting links but I will say this Guitar looks pretty good, to me, for 55 years old and if it isn't a fake it might interest someone here. Just a thought....!
I off to FL for the next week on a death in the family journey and will be there to emotionally support my daughter. Even at 44 she feels things like this very deep.

I think the seller has the date wrong. I believe this is 1970 guitar as the number goes past the expected range of the AG prefix (F-20) for 1969, and Hans' bible describes the period in 1970 as continuing with the numbering scheme while a transition was being made.

But, maybe Hans (@hansmoust) should weigh in for the actual date since this does indeed have an "AH" prefix, which is not shown in his table.

In any case, the guitar looks really nice, but essentially a case queen. As a result, you'd have to find out whether the guitar has any neck problems from just sitting around without care.

Also, the TRC is upside down. :)

Hello chazmo,

It's a mistake by the person who wrote up the label. It should have gotten the AG-serial number prefix and this F-20 is indeed from 1970.
AH was the serial number prefix for the M-20.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Yes, chazmo. That's the one.! It's pretty nice looking and in decent shape from what I can see from the pics; the case is one of those generic cardboard ones like my nylon string guitar I took lessons on when I first started in 1960. it was great that you were right on the mark with the year and I'm glad that Hans stepped in with his extensive knowledge on all Guild topics. I'm happy I wasn't off base questioning the prefix for the SN. I looked three different times and different sites that show model #s, SN and years like the support.guildguitars site and saw similarities but nothing that matched completely.
If I hadn't just purchased a Taylor 362e Grand Concert 12string I'd be looking seriously at this F20. Thanks for your help and slow education of this Guild 1st grader.
