I wonder if he has a vocoder collection.
I think this is what he used.

The latest in Gibson‘s Collection video series is a visit with Peter Frampton, going through a number of his iconic (and not so iconic) guitars. No Guilds, although he does mention that he had a Starfire early on in his career.

Excellent interview with some great stories!

And don’t forget to cast your vote for Peter on this year’s R&R HOF ballot.

Don't mean t'speak blasphemy, but I thought he and Marriot sounded pretty dang good on Gretsches:

Damn there's a lot of Beatlisms, then he throws the best of pre Cream Clapton in the lead, the Gretsch arguably sounds better than a Les Paul.

Not quite as hard on rhythms as a Gibson but sweeter on leads.

Still wondering why I've never had one?

When I met Peter years ago, I got to play his Phenix Les Paul, his Gretsch Duo Jet, and his Fiesta Red Stratocaster. Then, he took out a coffin-shaped case and showed me his Django Selmer.

When I met Peter years ago,
Cool story!

Never met Pete but the first Guild I ever laid my hands on belonged to Susan Vega. I've worked backstage since my late teens and it must have been late Eighties.. very low key theater gig with crew members that already knew us so we got to mess around with the two guitars for a few.
