Hello people.

So I realise there are a lot of variables and I am really not in a position (well mostly not) to buy this, but I have just played a GF60 rosewood version and man was it nice. Original case comes with and both the guitar and the case are in great condition. One or two minor dings but neck angle is good, action is good, plenty of height in the bridge etc. No issues showed themselves in the 30 minutes I had with it.

And so easy to play.

So the million dollar question is what are they worth?

Thanks

I have one. If it truly didn't need any work then $2000+- is the ballpark. Under and that is a steal. A little over is still very fair. I paid over and don't regret it at all. It is an amazing instrument and outclasses most new guitars selling for a lot more. Good luck. If you don't buy it then post the info and pics here as someone else would likely want it.

Ok thanks HeyMikey

I’m in Australia so that might put a few people off with the shipping and customs etc but it was about $2600 USD so a little on the expensive side.

If it's in as great shape as you say and needs no work, that's not an unreasonable price IMO, especially taking into account where you are. Guilds bought and sold outside the U.S. tend to trade hands for more money than they do here in the land of their birth.
Yeah that’s true. I just gotta convince myself I need it. I’m not much of an acoustic player and never played that shape before but it felt pretty good.

"What Mikey said". And GF60s are very special pieces and very low production too, so the bird-in-the-hand philosophy may help justify the scarce and truly desirable premium.

Not that I'm trying to influence your decision or anything. :D

Personally, if somebody willed me one, I'm pretty sure I'd find a way to live with the 25-5/8 scale length even though my pipe dream guitar is that size and tonewood with a 24-3/4 scale...

Thanks everyone. I would truly like to get this and if I found it in a months time I would but after mulling it over with Mrs Mushroom and a few beers I just can’t do it now.
Here is a photo of the back and the website of the shop for those interested.

Cool thanks Hans.
I’m not much of an acoustic guy. I might drop in again tomorrow and have another poke at it 🙂
