Hi,
Back in the 70's I played a Guild D25M. I was told it stood for a "Moulded Back"????? Then thru some research I found that it meant "Mahogany Top"????

Can some one clarify what the "M" really stands for?

Thanks,
Michael

Yep. Mahogany. As opposed to spruce.

Seriously???? Could stand for both??? Either Or???
Michael

Original D25 was an all mahogany guitar with a flat back, no need to qualify it with the M. Around '73 they made the switch to spruce top and arched back. Some were cherry finish, D25C, or mahogany finish D25M maybe more. A few managed to get out with the mahogany top and the arched back so I suppose the hand written labels could reflect that, but my best guess here is what I stated.

Thanks Graham....That helps alot...I appreciate it.
Hard to believe I have been confused for over 30 years...

Is there any other "M" info in the 25 Series that I should know about?

Best,
Michael
