Hello all. I just bought a “1988” Guild D50 serial # D500410. According to the dating chart the 1988 models don’t start until D500447? Just curious what’s up with that and if it really is an 88? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to LTG!! The dating chart shows the last serial number for that year. So, D500001 to D500447 are the numbers that fall under 1988. Your serial falls in that range. Tell us how you like the guitar!

Okay, nice! It’s great. Big bold sound with great action. Some very early signs of a bridge lift but I’m going to get that fixed asap. Got it and a 97’ D4G for $1000. I also own a 78’ D35 and my baby, 94’ DV72.

HNGD! You say you got both for $1000? Is it a double HNGD? Congrats on the deal

That’s a nice stable right there.

Hi Preed,
Welcome to LTG! It's a great place to hang out and talk about Guild guitars, but you might find that your collection has a tendency to grow...

I have been keeping track of the DV-7X series guitars in a spread sheet... for no good reason, other than curiosity and interest. I have about 50 of the ~250 DV-72s made recorded. Would you mind sharing the SN of your '94 DV-72 with me? If you are uncomfortable posting it, you could drop it to me by PM. Oh... and is your DV-72 trimmed with turquoise, or one of the other variants (malachite or pink coral)?

Thnx!
