Dear Guild gents/friends

I recently bought a beautiful Mexico made Guild Jumbo with an fishmann pickup.
Now I tried to figure out the exact model and made a photo from the label inside, but I could find out,
what the exact letters are written by hand and what exact model the guitar is.

Hopefully someone could help me by defining the exact model, the street used price in the market and when it has been manufacture.
Also if you might have some specs about wood a.s.o.

I really much appreciate your efforts.

Kind regards form Frankfurt Germany.
Markus

Welcome to LTG! That guitar is an AF-50RE. It's the last model Arcos introduced before production stopped. It's a rosewood version of the AF-50 that had a maple body. I think they were only made in 2014. Hopefully, someone who knows more will stop by soon.

Welcome Petrucci4711!

No wonder it's hard to find info on that guitar. As far as I can tell it never even made it into a catalog.

Closest would be this 2014 catalog showing the maple version of that body, shown as the "AF50". Apparently they hadn't decided on a numeric designation for a rosewood version, simply calling it an AF-RE** (I assume "RE" is for "Rosewood Electric" according to traditional Guild model numbering systems. Does your guitar have an endpin jack?)

The Arcos line was made entirely by Fender in Mexico as shown on label and was introduced just before Fender put up Guild for sale. Guild was lacking several legacy archback models at the time and this line was dedicated to archback models. It sort of fell in the cracks since it wasn't part of Fender's sale of Guild to Cordoba Music Group and was discontinued within a year of introduction IIRC.
Very unusual piece you have there, pretty too!

**I see GG Jaguar has seen the model ID'd as an AF50RE, even though label is a bit unusual. But we've learned over the years that's not uncommon with Guild.

Wow! That’s spectacular. I love everything about it. An arched back rosewood jumbo, that’s different. Looks like a mahogany sound hole rosette, high gloss top/satin everything else. Shape of the Pickguard is unique. I also love the “golden oak” color on the top. That’s a beauty for sure.

Welcome to LTG!
They missed writing the "50" on the label, that happened. Here is another such example:

And our own Richard owned and sold that above one back in 2018, so there are very few around. Definitely not many.

Here is a bit of info I wrote earlier: "The last new model before production was shut down was the arched laminated rosewood version AF-50RE."
So yes, the production year was only 2014.

As mentioned, that model never made it into a price list or catalog. The 2014 catalogs were printed end of 2013 and the 2015 catalog was printed after the ARCOS production shutdown in Ensenada.

Welcome to LTG, Markus!

Nothing to add to what you've already heard, as the Arcos series (i.e., arched-back) was fairly short-lived and this AR-50 model might've been the last of the Arcos models to be produced in Ensenada. Not sure of that last bit.

Anyway, that's a really pretty guitar and yours appears to be in nice shape. Enjoy it.

Oh, just to be clear, the back and sides are laminated wood, in typical Guild fashion, but the top is solid Sitka spruce, I think. I've never played one of these, but they should compare favorably sound-wise with Guild's other arched-back jumbos!
