My first post here. I have a few Guild guitars. A couple older ones and a couple newer Newark Street models all hollowbodies and I love them all!! Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows if Guild ever made a 16" hollowbody with venetian cutaway and the smaller Anti-hum pickups? So like an X-170 with the smaller Anti-hum pickups? Any help would be great!!

Pictures would help but the CE100D fits that description if it’s a full depth body or T100D if a thinline.

Edit - got my cutaways mixed up. See Default's post below

I don't remember seeing a 16" Guild without a florentine. I believe the closest you are going to get with a venetian is an Aristocrat or a Freshman, and they are smaller than what you are asking for.

Billy,

No label to see inside the F-hole to tell you? Is there a s/n on the back of the headstock?

By the way, welcome to the forum!

I think I misunderstood your post. It seems you are looking for such an instrument, not trying to identify one that you have.

As stated above by Default, I think all the 16” Guilds have a Florentine (pointed) cutaway. There was a T400 GSR in the past that had a Venetian cutaway and “mini hums” but I think that was a 17” body.

Hey Billy, welcome! How are you getting on with that beautiful CE100 you got?
Hey Walter!! It's a really great guitar! Ever since I saw a Youtube video of you playing one of these I had to have one. Took me a couple years to find a blonde one but was worth the wait. I replaced the knobs but I have the originals. I go it from a dealer who took it in on a trade from the original owner who replaced the tuners (no extra holes drilled). I have the original brown case as well.

Hello Billy,

Welcome! That's a nice example of a late '58 CE-100B-DP. Looks like the body bindings are in great condition; the heel caps on instruments from this periods usually need to be replaced. Great find!

Sincerely,

Welcome aboard, Billy!

I don't recall anyone ever asking this question before, but you've heard from the experts. There are very few rules without exceptions in Guild land, but it looks like you've found one! No Venetian archtop cutaways with 16" bodies. You learn something new every day.

That's my one thing for the day. :D :D

So is the guitar you posted a picture of the one you own ? Are you still asking about, "I was wondering if anyone knows if Guild ever made a 16" hollowbody with venetian cutaway and the smaller Anti-hum pickups? So like an X-170 with the smaller Anti-hum pickups?"

Hans would know. Send him a PM and see what he says.
