Hello Everybody... brand new to the forum, but not brand new to Guilds... Been playing several since 1979... just recently picked up a 1991 songbird (thin one with 2 knobs) and I need a case... Any help or suggestions would be appreciated...

Welcome Mr Guild!
Can't be of help with your request, but you've come to the right place.
I do like your line up. Oh, and there are no "no good" Guild 12 strings.

If it's the one with the knobs on the lower bout...good luck...I've been looking for years...never seen one minus the guitar. That was a lovely design boo boo on an otherwise great guitar.

The only hard case I've seen that it will fit in would be a Canadian teardrop shaped electric case...

Minor possibility that it will fit into a rectangular electric case that has a 'universal' interior...

Otherwise, a heavily padded gig bag is about all you can hope for.

Thanks guys... I have heard that an EPI Wildcat or a DeArmond Blues 90 case will fit quite well... Anyone tried any of those cases?... You are right about the Guild 12 strings, as I used to own a shop in the 70's and 80's, and I always loved when UPS showed up with some Guilds I had ordered... Don't believe I ever met a Guild I didn't like!... Here's a tidbit for you, I worked on Son Seal's Guild Starfire numerous times when he came to Kent or Cleveland Ohio... One night I walked into a bar in Kent Ohio, because I heard he was going to be there that night and I hadn't talked to him yet...... When he saw me he was on stage in the middle of a song and I could hear him calling my name... His front pickup had vibrated loose and was hanging... I put that pickup back in his guitar and he never stopped playing!... Needless to say, he dropped off the guitar the next day for me to go over... True story... Usually just adjust neck if needed, restring, set harmonics and polish it up!... We also worked on his amps and anything else needed... Great guy and a great player... He switched to Gibsons sometime later, not sure why...Thanks...

If your's has the knobs located like this one: http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/20U-9950.htm the standard fitted cases won't work. Take a close look at the case in the pics, that's the special case that came with it. Unfortunately there aren't any pics with it sitting in the case...which would make the fit issue easier to see.

Some of the Birdies came with the knobs on the upper bout. Those fit standard cases.
