Thank you so very much! That is all such very helpful information to me @Cougar - so I really do appreciate you taking the time to help me out... I don't know how it's happened, as I can barely play much of anything on the keys: but I swear, thinking all of these options through, is beginning to give me a semi-serious case of "G.A.S," or whatever the appropriate substitute might be?

Ha ha, good to hear it. Yeah, it seems that pretty good keyboards are stupidly cheap these days. My keyboard research halted after I got the Motif XS, which I could rule the world with if I figured out everything it can do.

I've found just playing keys along with various "drum tracks" is fun and sometimes inspiring. For recordings, I've sort of become a minimalist -- simple progressions to "lay expressions on" (like in this piece). I occasionally play guitar with the synth's drums, too. Beats a metronome!

Welp? Inexpensive keyboard she had hand selected arrived last night & she's already sent me 3 voice recording clips. Sounds like a kid in a candy store as she'd added commentary to prep each one... "I haven't played this since the '90s, etc." Her joy was ...well, I didn't think quite capable for someone our age - mid 40's - but! ..;) I'm really glad things turned out the way they did, and she was able to get help from a friend on dropping the guitar back off for return shipping, which, I guess--just, "barely fit into her car! Haha... good news is, I was later contacted by the person I'd originally spoken with, and he was willing to wait as long as it would have taken, and was only all too helpful with even being willing to put her in touch with some academy of music for the blind if she'd wanted to ever pursue it further. So that was beyond incredibly nice~ / Thanks for all that helped again! Much appreciated as always...
