So I’ve been dabbling around with my new harp guitar . I thought at the beginning I’d return it why ? Ugh can’t remember exactly but adjusting to its size was one thing . Having those bass strings arching out with that arm made it difficult to see the fret board of the reg guitar .

I guess just being so used to seeing and playing regular guitars that having this what seems as a huge arm blocking things is taking some adjusting to . Lol

Now that’s the least of it . Lol playing bass guitar is easily achievable at least playing bass as a guitarist would . Lol

So trying to tune the bass strings to the tunings I use is rather challenging so far with only mild success. Lol of course my tunings have not been my normal run or the best and they are a tad off of normal , like me ! Lmao 🤣

Now the wood of this guitar is rather interesting. It’s Silkwood though I can’t pin it down exactly to what it is . Never heard or seen it in use either as far as guitars go . They say it’s Rosewood like tonally . So it’s an all rosewood guitar . Lol

Now the more I play it the more I like its sound/tone etc . Makes me curious to what their 6 string OM’s sound like ?

Anyway I’m gunna keep messing with it and when those pesky bass string’s finally make sense then I’m sure I’ll be most pleased and hope some of you will like the results as well . Lol 😂

Now finding strings for this thing at least the bass string side has been a bit limited . I found a harp guitar string site but it doesn’t work at all on mobile so I I have to remember to try the pc when I get it fired up if I don’t forget . Lol

Ok so that’s it more or less thought I’d just share and now I’ll finish my beer that’s now warm because this took an hour to type ! Yaaaay Ray speak auto correct! Lmao 🤣

Harp guitars are pretty amazing, but I couldn't imagine playing one standing up. Or sitting down for that matter. Or not having a roadie.

Silkwood? Sounds radioactive.

I thought I have to have a double neck, 6/12. What an albatross. We finally parted ways. It did sound amazing, but the reality of a very large cumbersome guitar was a bit too much to bear, for my back especially. Nowadays, only simplicity and light weight matter.

Oh I toyed with double necks they are cool but yeah big and heavy at least they were back in the 70’s lol

This guitar is maybe 7 lbs so not really bad at all . Mine is the OM model but they do have a parlor sized models and they sound pretty good also .

I’m sure I’d have an easier time of it if I had music training but not being able to tell what note or scale I’m playing with out researching and double checking digital tuners I’m as lost as a chunk of rock floating through space . Lol 😂

Since my tuning is a lot of octaves I feel it helps to limit the bass string tunings of course I’m trying to use all 6 strings but reality says just use what ya can lol . 😂

Despite of lack of famous "Ray-Talk" your writings are still most pleasing.
