I was not aware that the D140 had a 1 3/4" nut.
That put a whole new spin on a Dreadnaught for me. Love OM's but
found this and it is on the way to me.

I needed another guitar like a hole in the head.
I'll probably sell something to keep in check...
It's a Guild Dread with an OM width nut and it does have a nice color😊

All solid woods and lightly built. What's not to like? :)

Looks bookmatched to me, F30!! Very nice!
Yes, it looks perfectly bookmatched! I think the reverse effect from lighting is throwing off how you're viewing the grain lines. In particular, check out the grain lines that kiss the outside edges of the heel cap & be even more happy!

I had one of those. They‘re seriously nice guitars. I didn’t get on well with the neck shape and 1-3/4” nut. Just a bit too much girth for me, but most folks like that kind of neck.
congratulations…I bet you’ll love it.

I really like the neck shape and 1 3/4" nut because I've played primarily OM's. I completely get that this neck might not work for others but I really prefer it. Having an OM neck on a Hog Dread seemed like a great distraction. I thought comparing the OM 140 to the OM 150 was fun.
Having the OM 140, OM 150, and the D140 to compare should be a blast.
I may be surprised at where my fav of the three land. We'll see.

Guild site says African Mahogany
I think this is correct, F30. Guild has been quite clear about the move away from Honduran... I think yours is African, or at least it's supposed to be (as you said).

Beautiful guitar.

Thanks for the info - I looked it up:

Khaya

Khaya, or African Mahogany, (Khaya ivorensis) is a beautiful hardwood species from equatorial West Africa. It is similar in appearance and working properties to Honduras Mahogany without the expense. Interlocked grain in select logs produces a beautiful ribbon figure when quarter sawn. The wood is easy to cut, glue, and finish and is nearly an equal to Honduras Mahogany. Trees are large with average logs in the 2-4' diameter range and tree heights of 75-125' tall. The wood is used for anything from musical instruments to boats to everything imaginable in between!
