Whenever it was made I really enjoyed this. I've always been a real fan of JT although I can't play his music worth a darn. My playing partner friend does his music really well so I satisfy myself singing JT songs while Jeff plays them.

JT just seems like a real down to earth kinda person, the kind I'd love to have the opportunity to hang with sometime.

Thanks for sharing this post.

That was a fun video. Thanks for sharing.

To me it says that if you have the talent you can make great music on almost any good guitar.

It’s fun to experiment with different instruments in search of those that really speak to you in one way or another.

Loved the video. Thank you for sharing.

I have always loved the low-tech elegance and idiosyncrasy of James Taylor's playing. He is not a great guitar player, because he is better than than that. One of a kind. A man with his own vision and sound. I have been hooked from the moment I first heard the intro to Fire and Rain on the radio.

:love::love::love::love::love:/:love::love::love::love::love: 5 out of 5!

The description says 2011, but the copyright at the end of the video says 2020. That sounds right to me. I had to watch it again just because. 🔥⛈️

Dean Smith of UNC basketball fame was driving a potential recruit around Chapel Hill a few years ago. Evidently part of the "tour" was to drive by James Taylor's old homeplace (Taylor's dad had been dean of the medical school at UNC). When Smith said "that's where James Taylor used to live," the potential recruit just shrugged and asked, "who is that ?" Sometimes things are wasted on the young, especially young (even talented) basketball players.

I would have liked to know what model the Yamaha was.
One website lists the Yamaha as a JT Custom. It may be something they made for him.

Bert Jansch also used a high-end Yamaha which he liked better than his old Martins. He said it was a lovely guitar. Yamaha may have done it specially for him.

We are not talking normal music shop Yamahas which are OK and are highly consistent. Different league.

From the thread here:

"The James Taylor Yamahas were either the L55 Custom or, more frequently, the FG2000 which he used live and in the studio."

It's definitely a high end custom from the "L" series that Yamaha made for him, and some of these are very good, and expensive!

Oh yeah JT...one of the first reasons that made me want to play Acoustic guitar.
What an amazing volume of timeless work.
