They mention the Gibson "Open Book" headstock, I've often wondered if the early Guilds with a similar headstock raised an issue.

Not guitars, but I think Selmer took Yamaha to court over patent violations when Yamaha introduced their professional line of saxophones. Something to do with the keying mechanism, I think.
