Anyone here play one? What do you have? Anyone have experience with the Goldtone SM model?

It's sort of a niche market I suppose. Seems like there are lots of cheap Asian made ones but if you want a good USA made one it gets pricey real quick. I'm looking at either the Goldtone SM (which I think is actually built in Korea) or an Anderwood (made in Asia but "checked" in their UK factory prior to sale).

Open discussion. Any input is appreciated.

About 30 years ago, I had a Weissenborn tenor guitar. If I remember correctly, it was all Koa. I bought it in a batch of instruments from an antique store in Oakland. It needed repairs, and I sold it before getting it playable. One of the other instruments was an Oahu hollow neck Hawaiian. I remember very little about either one, but I sort of wish I had kept both of them. Sorry, this brings nothing to your original questions, just a side note I guess.

I have been checking them out lately. There is a builder here on Oahu where i live and its on sale for like 1299 on ebay. All koa, pretty incredable.

I've owned a Style 3 for a few years now. It needs some damage repaired, but it's a sweet sounding guitar. I plan on putting it into the shop this winter. And then hopefully learning to play the damn thing.
