I just ordered my dream guitar: a '72 M-75. It's clean, has the original case and is probably all original; my only suspicion is about the bridge:

I've only seen this Muller bridge on the solidbody version, and I can't imagine how this would work without some sort of internal block for the bridge to anchor into. Is this a one-off or custom guitar with a factory Muller, or did this become standard at some point?

My M75 uses that bridge. It is one of the "semi-solid" models where Guild installed a block in the lower half of the guitar and left the upper half hollow. I suspect yours is a black version of my M75.

It was at Sylvan Music (more photos via that link). I've been looking for a hollow (or semi-hollow, as it appears to be) M-75 for years, and this is the first one I've found that's clean, original and within my price range. I haggled a bit and bought it for $1850; I'm not sure if that's still a little steep, but I'm so happy to find this guitar that I don't care. I expect to receive it in about a week.

if it is the guitar you wanted and it is your dream, then no you didnt pay too much at all. i think that price sounds fair to me, it looks like a beauty, i know it sounds like a beauty and it is the one YOU want! Half the battle is just finding THE ONE for YOU, so when you do it is worth paying a little more! SCORE!

can we see some more pics?

The Bluesbird arrived today, and I'm happy to report that it's exactly as I expected: clean condition and a superb player. The pickups are a bit hotter than the units on the X-500 I used to have, and overall the guitar has faster attack and better dynamics than that big jazz box. I ran into a great deal on a '65 Ampeg Reverberocket yesterday ($350!), and the two sound like they were made for each other. I definitely understand why Guild copied the Reverberocket for the 98RT.
