I've got an A-30R, (Square Headstock), that I bought back in 1976 in Rochester, NY (House of Guitars). From my research, I'm pretty certain this was assembled in Japan, due to the Oval Label in the soundhole. Mine has a serial number stamped on it though and I haven't seen that on any of the Madeiras that are pictured online.
Is it possible that this was somehow assembled in the US?

My A2, also purchased at HOG in 78 has a serial number on the label as well as the A20 I picked up a few years back.

Interesting that The Official Guild Website doesn't list the serial #s for Madeiras assembled in Japan, if they created those #s
and had them placed on the labels.

If it happened before 2014 your expectation should be that today's Guild doesn't know about it or doesn't get it right. That way you can be surprised if there is information from them.

You asked for photos. I just got this back from the shop. I had the bridge re-glued and the fret board cleaned and conditioned, and a new set of light strings. This is all Original. Plays like a dream, great sound from the Rosewood body.

Thanks @Mooney76 . Nice axe. I, too, think these were MIJ. Tnx for posting the pix!

Did it take a year to get the bridge fixed or were you just not around LTG? Also, did you know that Guild re-issued the Bob Marley Madeira A-20 (with a solid top) under the Guild brand a couple of years ago? AFAIK, that's the only Madeira model that's available modern day. I think many of us wish that Guild had made more use of the Madeira brand when they moved over MIC production, but that's water way under the bridge...

I got busy with OOT work and using my other guitars. I was debating putting in a pick-up but decided to keep it all original.
I saw the Marley picture with his A-20, very cool, didnt know he wrote with that one. The repair only took a week.
Great Guitar shop in NJ, Lark Street Music. Check out their website, great vintage guitars.
