Madeira am-12 What Year? #01826

I'm trying to date my fathers 12 string, Guild-Madeira. It's an am-12 serial # 01826. The headstock says "Guild" but the label inside the body says "Madeira". Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome. Madeira was a brand imported by Guild. Can't find exact dates but late '70's through early '80's should cover the time period when they were imported. I believe they were made in Japan to Guild's specs.

That's surprising to me about "Guild" on the headstock, all the ones I ever saw said "Madeira" on the headstock and "Madeira by Guild" on the label.
Maybe our resident expert Hans Moust can shed some light.

Maybe mpale466 means 'Guild' on the truss rod cover? If not, I don't know what's up with that!
