I don't know if this topic was ever posted. I was listening to Rocky Mountain High and decided to google Mike Taylor and see what he was up to.
I envisioned him going on to be one of the most sought after acoustic players ever. Turns out he chose a road less traveled.
I feel even more fortunate to have seen Mike and Dick Kniss back John at some concerts (just the three of them) before Lee Holdridge stepped in.
Nothing against Mr. Holdridge in the least.
I felt Mike Taylor was one of the best players out there. ...Just bummed now - Darn.

Pete Huttlinger had a very nice blog about Mike just after his death.
If someone knows how to find it, it would be a good read.

I agree that as good as the music was with Lee and his musicians, John's music always sounded best when it has simple back up.
I was disappointed with John's sound when he released his old band members and picked up the Rock band members formerly from Elvis' band.

When John added Pete and Cris to his band, things improved in my opinion.

Thanks for the post, Mike.

Mike Taylor was an early inspiration to me. He was such a talented player. His music live on!
