Hey all, I wanted to take the time and make an introduction post. I’ve long since been an admirer of the D-55 and finally secured a fair deal on an Oxnard a few weeks back. I’ve closely played a number of flagship acoustics (Gibson J-45, Taylor 814CE, Martin D-28s and D-35s) and can confidently say this Guild is now my go-to. Currently in the process of choosing the right pickup for it as it’ll be gigged with in a couple of weeks from now. Great to join you all, and looking forward to discussing all the ins and outs of some Guild gear!

Welcome Noah and you have joined a wonderful group who shares. And the Guild D55 - what an entry into the Guild world.

Welcome to LTG! That's a very nice and even looking top and also the color of the rosewood seems to be very nice!

K&K pickups with extra pre-amp get a lot of love here:

Also the Seymour single source or dual source mic/under saddle pup or mic/mag soundhole pup are a good choice. Guild used for a time the DTAR systems which are now Seymour Duncan. Essentially it is whatever system you prefer. Like with any guitar just just check that the internal bracing will accommodate the footprint of what you want to install.

Welcome, Noah!! Thanks for the intro and the photo of your D55. A Guild rosewood dread is a good choice. Stay in touch about the pickup and the gigs. We like interaction..... (y)

I'm still trying to decide what pick-up to buy for either the F47R or the D55. I can't decide on the guitar or the pickup. I know the answer. Put one in each guitar.

Hi Noah! What a beautie. I bought my first Guild, also a D55 in January this year and a D140 later. Guilds are great!
Enjoy yours in good health!
