Jimminy crickets, all the effort to bring this nice old bass back to life and it's the damn TRC that gets all the attention! . Well, maybe this one is not original to the bass after all. If and when I deem it necessary to appease the TRC police and find a correct version, I'm happy to make it right. But before I go I have to show you that the one I have will not work the other way 'round:

And for fans of Andy Griffith, here's some intel on his 1956 Martin D-18.

That truss rod cover is original to the bass, it came from the factory upside-down. When Guild switched to these tuners, they had to flip the TRC.

This has come up before. Shortly after this bass was built, they strated stamping the TRC's with the model designation. A lefty surfaced here, and that was the final proof that the TRC's were flipped at the factory, when those tuners were in play.

The switch tip is not original however. You can ask Hans or Ken Nash for one. or buy an aftermarket chrome one at least
