Obviously not new, but this just arrived:

So, I bought one of these some years ago, and then went through some personal changes and felt I should sell it. Immediately regretted it. I even contacted the person I sold it to and offered to buy it back. He never responded- I don't blame him.

I debated some other mahogany dreadnaughts and even bought one of those old Gibson Working Man guitars, but I guess I just kept realizing that I had owned what was probably my favorite already. But these New Hartford Bluegrass Jubilees aren't common and aren't cheap when you do see them.

But, I got a pretty good deal on this one also.

This one is in even better shape than my older one, this one has a K&K Mini in there that I probably will never really use and the tuners were upgraded to Schaller Grand Tune, although the Guild tuners are very good.

I'll be selling these Schallers on anyway, though- I only use locking tuners, so no matter how nice these are they won't be with me long.

I'm back! I now have two New Hartford Guilds, an F-30 Aragon and now this.

It's in great shape! Strings seem pretty dead though. I hadn't noticed the truss rod cover!

Larry Mal you're a very fortunate man! You mentioned that you are changing the Schaller tuners, what tuners will you use and do they have the same mounting screw location? Sorry for my curiosity.

No, not at all. So, I don't quite know what I'm looking at here, I think I mentioned that I like locking tuners exclusively, and on the two Guilds that I've replaced the otherwise very good tuners on, I've used Gotoh tuners. These are what ended up on the F-30 that you see above:

I think the black looks sharp on there, and I will likely use them again.

However, these aren't really my favorite tuners- they're good, though. But they do fit the footprint of the tuners that Guild was using back then and I don't have to drill any new holes, which I like to avoid of course.

But what I don't know is if there have been new holes drilled to accommodate these Schaller tuners. If I'm being honest, these Schallers are not up to the usual Schaller experience. I have Schallers on a Taylor 12 string and a Telecaster, they are usually excellent tuners. These are supposed to be their flagship, but they are not smooth and I think I would prefer the tuners that Guild shipped with this guitar.

Even though I would also sell those on.

But anyway those Gotoh tuners tend to fit the Guild footprint, although I often prefer Kluson tuners.
