For those who chose to veer into a discussion about the SPG factory, I present a thread from earlier in the week.

And since @SFIV1967 was explicitly called out I refer to his comments at

Just checked shipment records and SPG Musical Instruments Co., Ltd. shipped a batch of 200+ electrical guitars to Guild in Oxnard, they arrived mid February in California.
On 3/18 a shipment of Fender guitars arrived in Newark for MIRC. That's the last shipment I see coming from SPG.

Anyway, as it looks the last shipments out of SPG to any US customer were made around February, so it is possible they shut down in February 2024.

Interesting to see where all the production is going to be from now on.

So I can confirm that the bass is made in Korea. Markings on the bass and box indicate as well as SPG. Maybe one of the last ones to come out of the factory? Certainly seems like they could have been using up some NOS pickups then.

Love 'em, but have always kinda seen my MIK/NS basses as "orphan step children" to the vintage, MIA Guild basses.

Now it looks like they're on the road to becoming yet another tier of "collectable classics" in their own right with the MICs and MIIs assuming their former, lowly status.

Didn't see that comin'...
