Hello,

I'm new here. I have a '62 Starfire II with non-original pickups (DiMarzio TDS-1) the wiring is a little noisy and the pots a bit crackly. I've owned the guitar since '99. It's a real player and in good shape but not a collector model at all. Anyway, if I were going to change out the current pups, and the pickup cavities are all original (probably dynasonics or HB1's originally), what do you recommend to replace the p'ups?

I've got some DeArmond 2000's (like on the newer cheap gretsches and later Guilds) that I could use. I'd love to have white but not sure I'm going to find that without going vintage. What else? TV Jones? P90's? Any and all help appreciated.

PS. - my No. 1 acoustic is a '79 D25M. What a sweet and simple guitar. Everyone is always saying ... "if you ever want to sell that Guild ..."

I recently replaced the HB,s in my 66 Starfire III with TV Jones TArmonds and am extremely happy with the results. Your 62 might have come with Dearmonds which would make the job pretty easy. Scroll down to page 2 in this section for a discussion

Thanks for the news. Yeah, looks like it an indeed be done and that's one way I'm leaning. I also already have the DA 2000's and really dig their tone so ... for $0.00 ... I might go that way. Looks like since the T-Armonds fit, that's a definite option. Glad to know that.

Do you know if TV can do T-Armonds in White? That would be a big sell for me. Tom are you out there? How about some white T-Armonds.

Thanks Again! Anyone Else?
