Well, folks... thanks for the add. Thought I might drop in since I got a new guitar today...a 1978 G37, compliments of my good old brother, wilmywood. I have been in love with these particular guitars since Guild started making them and Greg brought one home. This is an amazing instrument. Not just because I bought it and have it and am trying to run a con job to make myself feel better. It's an outstanding example of luthiery. This guitar sounds amazing. I am overwhelmed and grateful.

Fantastic! Is that your first Guild, sjs?
It's my first Guild acoustic guitar. I had an old Guild B 302 bass for a few years. Have always been a big supporter and fan of Guild acoustic guitars. These maple guitars they made were always high on my guitar bucket list. I have a 1949 Martin D28 with a D45 conversion. This guitar sounds every bit as good.

Welcome sjs and you have hit a home run with your guitar and introduction.
Come back often. I enjoy your brother's comments and sure I would yours.
Great folks here on LTG.

Congrats and welcome sjs. Guild, maple, arch back… that’s a winning combination! She must have a great big sound. Enjoy!

sjs,

Well, you are likely to get sucked into the Guild acoustic world if you stick around here. So many choices, so little time.

I've played them both, and I concur. That Martin has nothing on my G37 nor sjs's.
That is quite a testimony. I had a very nice Martin OM but sold it after finding a really nice F30R standard. Both excellent playing and sounding guitars but the Guild sound just fit me better.

Welcome to the forum! Yeah I've picked up only a couple G37's and they were both out of this world.. Just killer tone. One was the stained maple back. It weighed about the same as 72' Volkswagen beetle and sounded amazing.
