Add me to the cool kid's club, cuz I just my first S-100.

Bought TF's battle-worn '77, and man, I went way too long letting the looks fool me. Plays great, sounds amazing, and soon, it will be looking better than it has for a long time.

My plan is to have it refinished in classic white, and if funds allow, possibly add a Bigsby trem.

I'm hoping to have Dave Seuferling of Seuf's Guitars do the work.

Here's a nice articel about him from the Mass Street Music blog.

I'll make sure to post on its progress.

Here's the "Before" pic that I'm sure everyone has seen many-a-time already...

I told Thunder about how I spent 3 hours at GC playing new SGs on a Tuesday night. I bought this on a Wednesday :)

All it took was those SG-playing hours at GC and a suggestion that this guitar would be a perfect candidate to be refinished. I'm just so glad it finally wound up in your hands. The story goes that I responded to Casey's WTB An S-100 Craigslist ad offering up this very guitar months ago. We didn't make the deal happen then, but I did say good things about the sunburst S-275 he wound up buying from a buddy of mine on another guitar forum. And he joined our ranks as well!

And now he's got the '77 S-100. Perfect end to a winding journey. Can't wait to see what it looks like in Classic White with, eventually, a Bigsby. You ought to try Hans because I think he's got a period-correct Guildsby tremolo for sale.

Welcome to the S-100 Owners Club. We'll have to get Qvart to add you to the list. Unfortunately, the self-styled "cool kids club" requires owning three S-100s, but I've always maintained that if you own an S-100, that makes you cool enough in my book.

Dropped off my '77 M-80 at my luthiers to be set up, cleaned up and tweaked in anticipation of possibly selling it and I got into a discussion with Cory, the luthier, about the '77 S-100 that Casey bought. I had brought it there after I got it in a trade off Craigslist to be checked out and set up. Cory said, "I worked on that guitar." And I told him he must have done a great job because Casey raved about how well it played. Never hurts to make the ones who work on your guitars (if you don't do it yourself) happy.
