I just received this new dread 12. I picked it up on Reverb. It's had a neck reset and I think that means I'm good for life with it. It was listed as rosewood board, but it sure looks like ebony to me.
Man oh man does this guitar sing. It has that sort of autoharp sound you get from some 12s, but it's bright with jangle as well. I've has F112, F212, F212xl, F412 and D2612 CE all of which have that 12 string authority but along with it the G312 has a silkiness they don't. I really dig this thing so far.
The neck is thicker or flatter or both than what I'm used to, but it's comfortable andI just need to get my picking angle (fingers) adjusted a bit.
Dudes! I'm STOKED!

Congrats! I really like the way that model sounds and would have kept mine if the neck was a little slimmer. Enjoy the jangle!

Congrats portsider! That looks sweet. It does appear to have an ebony neck and bridge. Somewhat of an uncommon model, I’ve not tried one but there are a few members here who own one and have had high praise for the model.

I remember seeing that guitar for sale and thinking it looked really nice and that the price was reasonable. Glad you snagged it and glad it's a good one! Congrats!

I want it! Super score.
Play for a bit the neck will start feeling right at home. Oh, and beautiful straight grain on the back.

Congratulations on your G-312! A real underrated Guild 12 in my opinion. I have one... same year. Mine isn't quite as pristine as yours. I struggle with the fat neck a bit, and have considered selling it several times because of that, but then I play it.... strumming an open chord sounds like a chorus of angels! Never quite understood the G-312 nomenclature... it's a D-50 12-string. That's what it is. Why didn't they just name it that?

Killer score! You'll adjust quickly to the neck. I always wondered what the 312 would sound like next to a 212. I had the latter and passed it on, to someone here actually, because it's a beast of a guitar. I remember thinking, "I bet rosewood would be the ticket with these dreadnought 12-ers."

So cool!! Glad you got what you want.... you have a lot of 12's huh? They're an acquired taste!! I only got one and now it's going up for sale. But it's a Martin. So CONGRATS!! (y)(y)
