Being a big Bluesbird fan, I saw this and couldn't resist, as I don't seem to see too many of these. Chunky neck as you'd expect, but feels like a 'Bird and the P90's do their thang. Super clean and well put together as usual. Awesome tobacco burst that's similar to my Westerly '99. I think the back on the Corona is a darker wood compared with the Westerly B'Birds, but I'm not positive. Serial number is CM000595 so I'm taking a stab at 2002. I could be wrong, but I don't think I've seen CM serial numbers in the four digits. If not, these Corona Birds (Bluesbird, Blues 90, Bluesbird 90) are kind of rare. I dig this one!

Love the top on that one! Congrats on a beautiful and somewhat rare Guild! The Corona builds are some of my favorite electrics that Guild ever made, You got a winner for sure.:cool-new:

Thanks everyone, I really dig this one. I tend to agree Bumper, we can debate the Fender contributions (or lack thereof), but in terms of electrics, the reintroduction of the Bluesbird as a rock guitar is arguably the biggest. I admit I was a Westerly snob until I played a Corona 'Bird, and of course there very well may be differences in the acoustic models, but Corona Birds are for real!

Congrats. That's one of the nicest looking P-90 Bluesbirds I've seen. P-90 Bluesbirds with block inlay necks are pretty rare. The Duncan P-90's sound real good too....and even if you didn't care for the Duncans there are tons of other P-90's out there that can drop right in (Lollars, Fralins, etc).

nice, congrats and enjoy! i've only heard great things of the Corona Bluesbirds. And I believe the Bluesbird 90 with the P-90's, such as the one you own, were only made in Corona (and the "Blues 90" only made in Westerly).

Thanks Mavuser. I wondered about Corona Blues 90 production, so that helps. It sure seems like there were only a handful of Corona Bluesbird and Bluesbird 90's made but we'll have to wait until part 2 of Hans' book to know for sure!
