A couple of weeks ago @richardp69 and I agreed to a trade. My lovely 1980 D50 sunburst antique and some change would go to him in exchange for his minty 2010 F50 Standard. I had read some great reviews of the New Hartford F50 Standard by other LTGers, @twocorgis in particular and since the guitar arrived I have not been disappointed. It came from Richard well packed and in great condition, ready to play with a great setup. It's a delight to play and has wonderful sparkly maple trebles and rich jumbo bass tones. Crucially it does not have the boomy low end of some arch back Guilds I have played which I don't care for. Super excited to have this great guitar and very appreciative to Richard for entrusting it to me. As many of you already know Richard is a class act and great to deal with.

Beautiful, congrats! Richard always as the good stuff and the two transactions I had with him were smooth as silk. Enjoy your new jumbo!

Very nice Norrissey! Congrats. I didn’t realize New Hartford made an F50 maple like that. I certainly love the smaller models I’ve played from NH. Light weight, even and resonant tone. I imagine your F50 is like that as well. Great trade - win, win!

Fantastic, Norrissey. Best of breed, my friend. Congrats.
I've said it here before, but I'll say it again. The New Hartford F50 Standard series are the best F50's I've played from any other plant, and better than any jumbo Gibson I've played too. I would like to compare a Hoboken F50, but I've never had an opportunity. I was very lucky to get my 2011 F50ce for what would now be a ridiculously cheap price, and it's a proud member of the "fat bottomed girls".

Those are some seriously gorgeous guitars Sandy. Thanks for putting me on the road to getting this F50 Standard. I just played a '68 F50 (I assume first year Westerly) that is for sale in LA yesterday and as good as the '68 was my 2010 F50 is in my opinion a better sounding guitar, it just has more sparkle and clarity. (as well as being a lighter more resonant guitar)

Norissey that is a beautiful F50. Super cool trade.
I can tell you IMO the NH, CT plant did some great stuff with maple. My F47M is a class act as is your new F50.
Congrats!

I'm a very lucky man! And welcome to the NH F50 Standard club. These guitars are becoming increasingly harder to find, and there's a reason for that. They're so good that people don't sell them. Sometimes I think I should let mine go, because it probably doesn't get played as much as it deserves to. But I know that I'd have a really hard time finding another if I regretted that decision, and I'm sure I would.

Thanks D30Man. Yes! I remember seeing your F47M. It's a beauty and I'm sure it sounds great.
