I prefer the vibe of the herringbone rosette on the earlier DV52s over the later abalone.
I never knew they changed the rosette. I think I also dig the herringbone rosette more but I was never much into super flashy guitars anyway.

Same. I mostly like simple. My F44 is the blingiest guitar I own, but it's not over the top. It's at the same level of a Gibson Southern Jumbo. Nicely appointed, but not overly fancy. The F44 has a herringbone rosette as well.

I agree, the F44, GF60 and the like have the right amount of bling. They are very tastefully done. They also are a terrific size and the spruce tops are to die for. If they only had a 1-3/4 nut…
